Lizzie: 10 minute screen play

Read full article

Set in Venice’s famed Teatro La Fenice, *Mirror Mirror on the Stage* is a psychologically charged one-act that erases the border between self and performance. Christine, an ambitious young actress, becomes obsessively devoted to portraying Adelina, a seductive and ruthless noblewoman; as rehearsals deepen, Adelina seems to escape the script and insinuate herself into Christine’s life, distorting memory, desire, and reality. Through surreal mirror sequences and symbolic staging, the play maps a slow, claustrophobic identity collapse: the pursuit of perfection and the allure of the spotlight feed a creeping madness that leaves both role and actor irrevocably altered. The finale refuses neat answers, leaving a fragmented reflection of who — if anyone — remains.

Themes:

* Self versus role
* Perfectionism and ego
* The illusion of fame
* Identity collapse
