Monologue series
Set across intimate, voice-driven scenes, Three Monologues follows three women who each confront the constraints placed on their lives and identities. In “Maria,” a mentor figure named Lilith guides a hesitant young woman away from roles others have prescribed, urging her to seize agency and wield her own power. “All on Board” follows Phoebe, who has disguised herself to join a ship’s crew and fulfill a promise to a lost brother—her joy at the horizon is shadowed by fear of exposure and the longing for justice. “Perfect Doll” inhabits the small, obsessive world of a dollmaker who questions the rigid, market-driven ideal of feminine perfection and crafts a new kind of figure that refuses to be boxed in. Together the pieces explore resistance, reinvention, and the intimate rebellions that remake women’s lives.
